Online Application for 2010 Summer Programs

Santa Fe Institute's schools focus on a fast-paced, intensive introduction to complex systems in general as well as to timely topics considered from a complex systems perspective. Formats include lectures, discussions, and lab sessions with a strong emphasis on student projects. Most schools are two to three weeks in duration and are designed for graduate students, although postdoctoral students and professionals are also invited to apply. In most cases, participation is through application and enrollment is limited.

Complex Systems Summer Schools

The flagship of SFI's educational programs this is an intensive three-week introduction to complex behavior in mathematical, physical, living, and social systems, intended for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

Computational Social Sciences

This event brings together a group of advanced graduate students and a small faculty for an intensive two-week study of computational social science.

Global Sustainability

This school explores the complex topic of sustainability by bringing together experts in climate change, economics, technological forecasting, and other diverse topics for a two-week intensive course focusing on complex systems approaches to understanding the problems facing the natural and social environments in the 21st century.

Exploring Complexity in Science and Technology from a SFI Perspective

This two-and-a-half day course is an intensive, immersive tour of the sciences of complexity; there are no prerequisites and no specific mathematical background necessary.
